These are some of the best designs we've seen (if not technically feasible). Designer Tommaso Gecchelin has put together his ideas for the rumored "MacBook Touch". We know these aren't going to happen soon but we like! Much more below.

I know this is fake and wishful thinking, but still.... it doesn't hurt to dream! It would be WAY cool. Actually, the cool factor would be off the charts! Say when and where and I'll be there with my hard earned money!!!

i like the idea of having the touch keyboard projected just like a regular macbook. it looks good, but not practicle. this is something that we can only dream of. if only . . .

Cleve, with extreme patience I'm asking this.....

How is this not technically feasible? This is very possible, including the manufacturing and reasonble consumer costs. Perhaps you should try to keep up with the latest in flexible OLED tech....and I mean the friggin L A T E S T before you say stuff like not technically feasible. It is attitudes like that by Apple's inept competition that is keeping Apple on top like this.

That said, I would be slightly surprised that Apple would be able to push to get this mass produced in time for this year as a gen 1 device. But don't tell me that a prototype similar or even BETTER than this mockup isn't sitting on Tim Cook's desk RIGHT THE HELL NOW!!!

I want one right now. That is freaking amazing. I need to buy a new MacBook to replace my MacBook Pro G4 for college in the fall. This would be the perfect replacement. Like Polrbear, I am also replacing my keyboard.

Maybe a PowerBook G4, or a MacBook Pro.

Go back to PCs...you don't deserve to even look at this mockup.

Mmmm MacBook Pro G4. The impossible motherboard conception :-P and imagine the performance unboost...

Back on topic, WOW. If this thing was real, and they could shoehorn the components of a MacBook Pro (Intel C2D of course, not PPC G4) into it, it would literally be the best idea since somebody thought of bashing a rock against some pyrite above some dry grass some hundred thousand years ago.

Go on Stevo, I know there's a little something just gone ping in the back of your mind... make this real, call it a MacBook Sketch (or whatever... it looks like an epic sketchbook... just provide an iPen for advanced graphic work) and price it at a gazillion dollars and I'll sell my liver and a kidney to buy one.

Tomasso needs to apply for a position at Apple ASAP. This is idea is GOLDEN! I really love the implementation of the digital pen, too. I'ts something I've been wanting on a Mac for months now. I'm not sure about the touchscreen keyboard, though. You still need something tactile for touch-typing.
